Compound α-keto acid tablets

Function and Efficacy

This product can provide essential amino acids and minimize the intake of amino nitrogen. Ketones or hydroxyamino acids do not contain amino groups. They use the nitrogen of non-essential amino acids to convert into amino acids, thus reducing urea synthesis and the accumulation of uremic toxic products. Ketones or hydroxyamino acids do not cause ultrafiltration of the remaining nephrons, and can improve renal hyperphosphatemia and secondary hyperparathyroidism, and improve renal osteodystrophy. This product can reduce nitrogen intake when combined with a low-protein diet, while avoiding the adverse consequences caused by insufficient protein intake and malnutrition. The results of toxicological studies show that the toxicity is low. Chronic toxicological studies have shown that the minimum toxic dose for dogs is 1200 mg/day and for rats is 2700 mg/day. When these doses are adjusted to the dosage for humans (weight 70 kg), they are converted to 84 g/day for dogs and 189 g/day for rats. This product has no embryotoxicity.

Appearance

This product is a yellow film-coated tablet, which becomes white after removing the film coating.

Indication

Combined with a low-protein diet, it can prevent and treat damage caused by protein metabolism disorders due to chronic renal insufficiency. It is usually used for patients with a glomerular filtration rate of less than 25 ml per minute. A low-protein diet requires an adult daily protein intake of 40 grams or less.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration. Take 4-8 tablets 3 times a day, swallow the whole tablet during meals. Follow the doctor's advice if necessary. This dose is calculated based on a 70kg adult body weight. For patients with a glomerular filtration rate less than 25 ml per minute, this product can be taken long-term with a low-protein diet of no more than 40 grams per day (for adults).

Adverse Reactions

Hypercalcemia may occur. If hypercalcemia occurs, it is recommended to reduce the intake of vitamin D. If hypercalcemia persists, reduce the dosage of this product and reduce the intake of other calcium-containing substances.

Precautions

Hypercalcemia and amino acid metabolism disorders. When patients with hereditary phenylketonuria use this product, they should be aware that this product contains phenylalanine.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: There is no information on the use of this product in children. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: There is no experience of use in pregnant and lactating women. Precautions for the elderly: No special requirements.

Drug Interactions

1. When used with other calcium-containing drugs, it can increase blood calcium levels. 2. When patients with uremia take this product for treatment, if aluminum hydroxide drugs are used at the same time, the dosage of aluminum hydroxide should be reduced. Pay attention to the decrease in blood phosphorus levels. 3. In order not to affect drug absorption, drugs that combine with calcium to form insoluble complexes (such as tetracycline, quinolones such as ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin, iron preparations, fluoride and drugs containing estramustine, etc.) should not be taken at the same time as the prescription. The interval between taking these drugs and the prescription is at least 2 hours. 4. Increased blood calcium can increase the sensitivity of cardiac glycoside drugs, and therefore increase the risk of arrhythmias.
