Gabexate Mesylate for Injection
Function and Efficacy
Gabexate is a non-peptide protease inhibitor that can inhibit the activity of proteases such as trypsin, kallikrein, plasmin, and thrombin, thereby preventing the pathological and physiological changes caused by these enzymes. Observations on animal experimental acute pancreatitis have shown that it can inhibit activated trypsin, reduce pancreatic damage, improve serum amylase and lipase activities, and inhibit the increase of urea nitrogen.

Appearance
White or off-white loose lumps or powder.
Indication
It is used for the treatment of acute mild (edema type) pancreatitis, and can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for acute hemorrhagic necrotic pancreatitis.
Usage and Dosage
Only for intravenous drip, 0.1g at a time, 0.3g per day for the first 3 days of treatment, 0.1g/day after the symptoms are relieved, the course of treatment is 6 to 10 days, first inject 5ml of water for injection into the bottle containing the lyophilized powder of gabexate, and then transfer it into 500ml of 5% glucose solution or Ringer's solution after dissolution for intravenous drip. The drip speed should not be too fast, and should be controlled within 1mg/kg/h, and should not exceed 2.5mg/kg/h.
Adverse Reactions
In a few cases, after the infusion of this drug, irritation symptoms such as local pain in the injected blood vessel, redness of the skin, and mild superficial phlebitis may occur. Occasionally, there may be rashes, facial flushing, and allergic symptoms. In very rare cases, anaphylactic shock such as chest tightness, difficulty breathing, and a drop in blood pressure may occur.
Precautions
It is not suitable for people with a history of allergic reactions to multiple drugs, pregnant women, or children.
