Appearance
This product is a film-coated tablet, which appears dark yellow after removing the film coating.
Usage and Dosage
Oral. For prevention: 1 tablet per day for adults, 2 tablets per day for pregnant women, and 0.5 tablets per day for children. For treatment: 2 to 4 tablets per day for adults, and 0.5 tablets per day for children.
Adverse Reactions
1. Gastrointestinal adverse reactions may occur, such as nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, and constipation. 2. This product can reduce intestinal motility, cause constipation, and discharge black stools.
Precautions
1. Severe liver and kidney damage, especially with untreated urinary tract infection. 2. Patients with excessive iron load, hemochromatosis or hemosiderosis. 3. Patients with non-iron deficiency anemia (such as thalassemia) are prohibited from using this product.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Children must use under adult supervision. To prevent overdose, children should take 9-18 mg per kg of body weight per day, divided into three doses. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product is suitable for pregnant and lactating women. The iron intake of women in the middle and late stages of pregnancy decreases, while the demand increases. This is the best time to supplement iron. Preventive dose: Pregnant women can take 2 tablets orally per day. Therapeutic doses of iron have no adverse effects on the fetus and lactation. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
Drug Interactions
1. Taking vitamin C with this medicine is beneficial to the absorption of this medicine. 2. Taking this medicine with phosphates, tetracyclines and tannic acid can hinder the absorption of iron. 3. This medicine can reduce the absorption of levodopa, carbidopa, methyldopa and quinolones. 4. If used with other drugs at the same time, drug interactions may occur.
