Levodropropizine Capsules
Function and Efficacy
1. This product is a peripheral antitussive drug, which exerts an antitussive effect by selectively inhibiting the peripheral C-fibers of the trachea and bronchus. Its site of action is at sites associated with sensory neuropeptides in the peripheral nodes. It has a strong antitussive effect and lasts for a long time. Since it has no effect on β-adrenergic receptors, M cholinergic receptors and opioid receptors, it has fewer adverse reactions of central inhibition and is an efficient and safe antitussive drug. 2. Subacute and long-term toxicity to rats and dogs 2. The test data showed that the main phenomena during the medication period were salivation, decreased food intake and weight in rats, central sedation, peripheral vasodilation and increased heart rate in dogs; high doses were hepatotoxic to both animals. The test found that the maximum tolerated oral dose of the two animals was 24 mg/kg/d, which is 10 times the clinical dose. Levodropropizine has a slight effect only at 30 times the clinical dose.
