Function and Efficacy
The mechanism of action of this product in treating chronic hepatitis B and enhancing the responsiveness of the immune system has not been fully elucidated. Several in vitro tests have shown that this product promotes the maturation of T lymphocytes by stimulating peripheral blood lymphocyte mitogens, increases the levels of lymphokines such as interferon alpha, interferon gamma, interleukin 2, and interleukin 3 secreted by T cells after antigen or mitogen activation, and increases the levels of lymphokine receptors on the surface of T cells. This product can also enhance allogeneic and autologous human mixed lymphocyte reactions by activating CD4 cells. This product may increase the aggregation of pro-NK cells, and interferon can enhance their cytotoxicity. In vivo tests have shown that this product can increase the expression level of interleukin 2 receptors in mouse lymphocytes after activation by concanavalin A, and at the same time increase the secretion level of interleukin 2.

Indication
1. Chronic hepatitis B. 2. As a vaccine immune response enhancer for immunocompromised patients. For patients with suppressed immune system function, including those receiving chronic hemodialysis and elderly patients, this product can enhance the patient's immune response to viral vaccines, such as influenza vaccine or hepatitis B vaccine.
Usage and Dosage
1 Before use, dissolve each bottle of thymosin α1 (1.6mg) in 1ml of water for injection and inject subcutaneously immediately (do not inject intramuscularly or intravenously). 2 Recommended dose for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B: 1.6mg each time, twice a week, 3-4 days apart. Administer continuously for 6 months (52 injections in total) without interruption. 3 Clinical trials suggest that the combination of thymosin α1 and αinterferon may be more effective than αinterferon alone or thymosin α1 alone. If αinterferon is used in combination, the dosage and precautions in the αinterferon prescription information should be referred to. Generally, thymosin α1 is administered in the morning and αinterferon is administered in the evening. 4 As a vaccine immune response enhancer for immunocompromised patients: 1.6mg each time, twice a week, 3-4 days apart, for 4 consecutive weeks (8 injections in total), the first injection should be injected subcutaneously immediately after the vaccine.
Adverse Reactions
Thymosin alpha 1 is well tolerated. Some patients may experience discomfort at the injection site. When patients with chronic hepatitis B receive this product, ALT levels may temporarily fluctuate to more than twice the baseline value. At this time, it should usually be continued unless symptoms and signs of liver failure occur.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to the ingredients of Kitai are contraindicated; patients who are receiving immunosuppressive therapy such as organ transplant recipients are contraindicated.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: The safety and effectiveness of this product have not been determined for patients under 18 years old, so it is not recommended. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Basic research shows that this product has no effect on animal embryos, but it is not clear whether this product will affect pregnant women's embryos and whether it is excreted through breast milk. Therefore, some patients should use the drug with caution and must follow the doctor's advice. Precautions for the elderly: It is not clear yet.
Drug Interactions
This product can be used in combination with alpha interferon to enhance immune response, but should be used with caution in combination with other drugs. This product should not be mixed with any other drugs for injection.
