Function and Efficacy

This product has dopamine D2 receptor antagonist activity and acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity, and exerts gastrointestinal motility through the synergistic effect of the two. In addition, due to the antagonism of dopamine D2 receptor activity, this product also has a certain anti-vomiting effect.

Ingredients

Chemical name: N-[p-[2-(dimethylamino)ethoxy]benzyl]-3,4-dimethoxybenzamide hydrochloride

Appearance

This product is a white film-coated tablet, which should appear white after removing the film coating

Indication

This product is suitable for various symptoms caused by functional dyspepsia, such as: upper abdominal discomfort, fullness after meals, early satiety, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, etc.

Usage and Dosage

Adults take 1 tablet 3 times a day before meals, and reduce the dosage according to age and symptoms.

Adverse Reactions

1 Allergic symptoms: rash, fever, itching, etc. 2 Digestive system: diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, increased saliva, etc. 3 Psychoneural system: headache, tingling, sleep disorders, dizziness, etc. 4 Blood system: leukopenia. If abnormalities are confirmed, administration should be stopped. 5 Occasionally, BUN and creatinine may increase, and there are reports of AST, ALT, and prolactin increases (within the normal range). 6 Others: chest and back pain, fatigue, numbness of fingers, hand tremors, etc.

Precautions

1. It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to the ingredients of this product. 2. It is contraindicated in case of gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstruction or perforation.

Precautions for children: The safety data of this product for children has not been established, so children should avoid taking it. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Since the safety of administration to pregnant women has not been confirmed, it can only be administered to pregnant women or women who may become pregnant when it is confirmed that the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks. 2. Since it has been reported that this product can be transferred into breast milk in animal experiments (rat), breastfeeding should be avoided when taking this drug. Precautions for the elderly: Due to the decline in physiological functions of the elderly, adverse reactions are often prone to occur. Therefore, the elderly need to be carefully observed after taking this product. Once adverse reactions occur, measures such as reducing the dosage or stopping the drug need to be taken.

Drug Interactions

No interaction with warfarin, diazepam (valium), diclofenac, ticlopidine, nifedipine and nicardipine was found in terms of serum protein binding. Itopride is not dependent on cytochrome P450 enzymes, but is mainly metabolized by the flavin monooxygenase pathway, so there is no interaction in drug metabolism. Anticholinergic drugs can weaken the effect of itopride. Anti-ulcer drugs such as cimetidine, ranitidine, teprenone and cetraxate do not affect the prokinetic effect of itopride hydrochloride.
