Ammonium Ferric Citrate Effervescent Granules
Function and Efficacy
This preparation enhances the proton signal in water when in aqueous solution, which shows that it is effective as an oral contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging. The results of rat experiments showed that the contrast effect of the gastrointestinal tract was enhanced after administration of a certain amount of ammonium ferric citrate solution (1-3mmol/L), and the gastrointestinal cavity could be identified from the adjacent soft tissue. Rabbit experiments showed that ammonium ferric citrate (2mmol/L) achieved satisfactory enhancement of the signal contrast on the T1W and T2W images of the spin echo (SE) sequence. Referring to foreign literature, the results of acute toxicity experiments showed that when the maximum dose of a single oral administration of ammonium ferric citrate effervescent powder to rats and dogs was 2000mg/kg, no obvious toxic reactions were observed except for changes in feces (such as softened or watery stools). A single intraperitoneal injection of 120mg/kg of ammonium ferric citrate effervescent powder in rats

Appearance
This product is brown granules.
Indication
Used for magnetic resonance abdominal imaging to perform contrast imaging of the digestive tract (stomach, duodenum and jejunum).
Usage and Dosage
The adult dosage is 1 bag, dissolved in 300ml of water, taken orally. If necessary, 2 bags can be taken orally, dissolved in the same amount of water. Magnetic resonance imaging is usually performed within 5 to 20 minutes after taking the medicine.
Adverse Reactions
According to foreign clinical data, 0.1-0.5% of patients experience diarrhea; 0.1% experience nausea, vomiting, and decreased appetite; a very small number of patients experience stomach discomfort and abdominal distension. The above symptoms can disappear on their own.
Precautions
Patients with iron overload; patients allergic to iron supplements; patients with or suspected complete intestinal obstruction or intestinal perforation.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: The safety of drug administration to children has not been determined (lack of experience), so children should use it with caution. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: The safety of drug administration to pregnant women has not been determined, so pregnant women, parturients, lactating women and women who may become pregnant should use it with caution. Precautions for the elderly: Generally speaking, the physiological functions of the elderly are low, so special attention should be paid when using the drug.
