Function and Efficacy
This product belongs to the third generation of cephalosporin, with a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, and is stable against broad-spectrum b-lactamases (including penicillinase and cephalosporinase) produced by various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This product has a strong antibacterial effect on Enterobacteriaceae such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Proteus mirabilis. Pseudomonas and Acinetobacter species such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa are less sensitive to this product. Ceftizoxime has a good antibacterial effect on Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. This product has a poorer effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis than the first and second generation cephalosporins. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus are resistant to this product, and various streptococci are highly sensitive to this product. Anaerobic bacteria such as Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus and some Bacteroides are mostly sensitive to this product, and Clostridium difficile is resistant to this product. The mechanism of action of this product is that this product achieves a bactericidal effect by inhibiting the biosynthesis of bacterial cell wall mucopeptides.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is cefuroxime sodium, and its chemical name is [6R-[6a,7b(Z)]]-7[[2,3-dihydro-2-imino-4-thiazolyl)(methoxyimino)acetyl]amino]-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid sodium salt.

Indication
Lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, abdominal infections, pelvic infections, sepsis, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, meningitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae or Haemophilus influenzae, and simple gonorrhea caused by sensitive bacteria.
Usage and Dosage
1Usual dose for adults: 1-2g at a time, once every 8-12 hours; the dose for patients with severe infection can be increased to 3-4g once, once every 8 hours. For the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infection, 0.5g once, once every 12 hours. Usual dose for infants and children aged 26 months and over 6 months: 50mg/kg once according to body weight, once every 6-8 hours. 3Patients with impaired renal function: Patients with impaired renal function need to adjust the dose according to the degree of impairment. After an initial loading dose of 0.5-1g, patients with mild renal impairment (endogenous creatinine clearance Clcr of 50-79ml/min) usually take 0.5g once every 8 hours, and 0.75-1.5g once every 8 hours in case of severe infection; patients with moderate renal impairment
Adverse Reactions
1 Allergic reactions such as rash, itching and drug fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. 2 Mild increase in alkaline phosphatase and serum aminotransferase, temporary increase in blood bilirubin, blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, etc. 3 Anemia (including hemolytic anemia), leukopenia, eosinophilia or thrombocytopenia are rare. 4 Occasionally, headache, numbness, dizziness, vitamin K and vitamin B deficiency, and anaphylactic shock may occur. 5 Mucosal candidiasis may occur in very few patients. 6 Burning sensation at the injection site, cellulitis, phlebitis (for intravenous injection), pain, sclerosis and paresthesia, etc.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to this product or other cephalosporins are contraindicated.
Drug Interactions
Although there are no reports of drug interactions with other drugs, there are reports of nephrotoxicity when other cephalosporins are used in combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics.
