Papaverine Hydrochloride Injection
Function and Efficacy
Papaverine has a direct nonspecific relaxant effect on blood vessels, heart or other smooth muscles, which may be caused by the inhibition of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase.
Ingredients
The main ingredient and chemical name of this product are: 1-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-6,7-dimethoxyisoquinoline hydrochloride
Appearance
This product is a colorless or slightly orange-yellow clear liquid
Indication
Used to treat ischemia caused by spasm of the brain, heart and peripheral blood vessels, and spasm of internal organs such as the kidneys, gallbladder or gastrointestinal tract.
Usage and Dosage
Common dosage for adults: 1. Intramuscular injection, 30 mg at a time, 90-120 mg per day; 2. Intravenous injection, 30-120 mg at a time, once every 3 hours. The injection should be slow, not less than 1-2 minutes, to avoid arrhythmia and fatal suffocation. When used for cardiac arrest, the two doses should be separated by 10 minutes.
Adverse Reactions
① Jaundice occurs after medication, and the eyes and skin are obviously yellow, indicating liver damage. ② Parenteral administration may cause redness, swelling or pain at the injection site. Rapid parenteral administration may cause deeper breathing, flushed face, accelerated heartbeat, hypotension and dizziness. ③ Overdose may cause blurred vision, diplopia, drowsiness or (and) weakness.
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients with complete atrioventricular block. It is generally contraindicated in patients with Parkinson's disease. It should be discontinued immediately in the event of liver dysfunction.
Drug Interactions
(1) When used together with levodopa, the efficacy of the latter can be weakened. This product can block dopamine receptors. (2) The efficacy of this product is reduced due to the effect of nicotine when smoking.
