Sodium Glutamate Injection

This product is an amino acid drug. In severe hepatitis or liver dysfunction, the liver's conversion of ammonia to urea is impaired, resulting in increased blood ammonia and encephalopathy symptoms. The intake of glutamate and arginine is beneficial to reduce and eliminate blood ammonia, thereby improving encephalopathy symptoms.

The main ingredient of this product is sodium glutamate. Its chemical name is sodium L-2-aminoglutarate.

This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.

Used for hepatic encephalopathy, hepatic coma and other mental symptoms caused by excessive blood ammonia.

Intravenous drip, 11.5 g at a time, not more than 23 g per day, diluted with 5% glucose injection and slowly dripped.

1. When a large amount of sodium glutamate is used to treat hepatic encephalopathy, it can cause severe alkalosis and hypokalemia due to excessive absorption of sodium. Therefore, electrolyte concentrations must be closely monitored during treatment; 2. If the infusion is too fast, symptoms such as drooling, flushing, and vomiting may occur; 3. Precursors of allergies may include facial flushing, headache, and chest tightness; 4. Children may have tremors; 5. Patients with combined anxiety may experience syncope, tachycardia, and nausea after use.

It is contraindicated for those who are allergic to this product.
