Mitiglinide binds to the sulfonylurea receptors on the pancreatic β-cell membrane, inhibiting the ATP-sensitive K channels on the pancreatic β-cell membrane, causing cell depolarization and increased intracellular Ca2 concentration, thereby promoting insulin secretion and lowering blood sugar.

Usage and Dosage
Take orally within 5 minutes before meals. Usually 10 mg per time for adults, 3 times a day. The dosage can be adjusted according to the patient's therapeutic effect.
Adverse Reactions
According to foreign literature reports: Among the total 1142 cases in clinical trials, 245 cases (21.5%) were reported to have adverse reactions. The main symptoms were hypoglycemia (5.8%), and others included abdominal distension (1.7%), constipation (1.2%), diarrhea (1.1%) and other digestive tract symptoms, as well as headache (1.0%). In addition, abnormal clinical examination values occurred in 245 cases (21.5%) among the total 1137 cases. Mainly including increased pyruvate (6.4%), increased γ-GTP (4.1%), increased lactic acid (2.9%), increased ALT (GPT) (2.8%), increased free fatty acids (2.1%), etc.
Precautions
The following patients should not use this product: 1. Patients with severe ketosis, diabetic coma or pre-coma, type 1 diabetes (because they must be infused and use insulin to quickly reduce high blood sugar, so this product is not suitable for use). 2. Patients with severe infection, perioperative period, and severe trauma (because they must use insulin to quickly control blood sugar, so this product is not suitable for use). 3. Patients with a history of allergy to the ingredients of this product. 4. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not clear yet. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant are prohibited from taking this product. 2. This product can be secreted through breast milk. Lactating women should stop breastfeeding when using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Elderly patients usually have low physiological functions.
