Guaifenbromide oral solution
Function and Efficacy
This product is composed of guaifenesin and bromhexine hydrochloride. Guaifenesin is a strong expectorant that can increase the secretion of respiratory glands, dilute sputum, and make it easier to cough up. Bromhexine hydrochloride directly acts on bronchial glands and can release lysosomes of mucus secreting cells. This depolymerizes mucopolysaccharides in mucus and reduces the viscosity of mucus. It can also cause the respiratory tract to secrete low-viscosity small-molecule mucins, making sputum thinner and easier to cough up.

This product is a compound preparation. Each 10 ml contains 200 mg of guaiacol glyceryl ether and 8 mg of bromhexine hydrochloride. The excipients are: citric acid, sodium benzoate, sodium saccharin, sorbitol, polyvinyl pyrrolidone K90, maltol, allura red, cherry flavor, vanilla flavor, and pure water.
