Function and Efficacy

This product is an isoquinoline derivative, a myotropic antispasmodic drug that acts directly on smooth muscle cells. It inhibits phosphodiesterase, increases the level of intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate, inhibits myosin light chain myosin, relaxes smooth muscles, and relieves spasms. Its effect does not affect the autonomic nervous system. This product has no teratogenic or mutagenic effects in animal experiments.

Appearance

This product is a yellow tablet.

Indication

1. Gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasm, irritable bowel syndrome. 2. Biliary colic and biliary spasm, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis, cholangitis. 3. Renal colic and urinary tract spasm, kidney stones, ureteral stones, pyelonephritis, cystitis. 4. Uterine spasm, dysmenorrhea, threatened abortion, uterine rigidity.

Usage and Dosage

Adults take 3-6 tablets orally daily, 1-2 tablets each time; children aged 1 to 6 years old take 2-3 tablets per day, 1/2-1 tablet each time; children over 6 years old take 2-5 tablets per day, 1 tablet each time.

Adverse Reactions

Occasionally dizziness and nausea.

Precautions

It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver, kidney or heart dysfunction.

Special Population Medication

Precautions for children: The use of drotaverine in children has not been evaluated. (See Dosage and Administration for details) Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Retrospective studies in animals and humans have shown that this product has no teratogenic effects. However, pregnant women should be careful when using it. Due to the lack of existing data, this product is not recommended for use during lactation. Precautions for the elderly: There are currently no special precautions for the elderly to take this product.

Drug Interactions

This product may weaken the anti-Parkinson's disease effect of levodopa.

Storage

Keep in a cool (not exceeding 20°C) dry place away from light.
