Carbenoxolone Sodium Capsules

This product can increase the mucus secretion of gastric mucosa, promote the repair of gastric mucosal epithelial cells, prevent the reverse diffusion of hydrogen ions, and thus strengthen the gastric mucosal barrier. It can bind to pepsin in the stomach and inhibit the activity of the enzyme by about 50%, thus protecting the ulcer surface. This product also has the effect of stimulating the adrenal glands or enhancing endogenous corticosteroids.

This product is used for peptic ulcer.

Oral administration: 50-100 mg/time, 3 times a day in the first week; 50 mg/time, 3 times a day thereafter, taken after meals. The course of treatment is 4-6 weeks, and the longest course is no more than 3 months.

The incidence of adverse reactions is about 33.3%, which may include headache, diarrhea, flushing, etc.

1. Patients with aldosteronism and hypokalemia are contraindicated. 2. Children should use with caution. 3. Elderly patients, especially those over 60 years old, should use this product with caution because they are prone to sodium and water retention.

Antacids and anticholinergics may reduce the absorption of this product; patients who are taking digitalis should not take this product. Taking it with potassium-sparing drugs can reduce the side effects of this product.
