Terbutaline Sulfate Sodium Chloride Injection

Function and Efficacy

Terbutaline sulfate is an adrenergic receptor agonist. It can selectively stimulate β2 receptors to relax bronchial smooth muscles, inhibit the release of endogenous spasm-causing substances and edema caused by endogenous mediators, improve the bronchial mucociliary clearance ability, and relax uterine smooth muscles.

Ingredients

(±) α-[(tert-Butylamino)methyl]-3,5-dihydroxybenzyl alcohol sulfate (2:1)

Indication

It is suitable for the prevention and relief of patients with bronchial asthma, reversible bronchospasm associated with bronchial and emphysema.

Adverse Reactions

According to the recommended dose, the incidence of adverse reactions is low, mostly mild, tolerable, and does not affect continued treatment. The main symptoms are: Central nervous system: tremor, nervousness, dizziness, headache, and occasional drowsiness. Cardiovascular system: palpitations, tachycardia. Respiratory system: chest discomfort may occur, dyspnea is rare, and hypersensitivity reactions and bronchospasm attacks have been reported occasionally. Digestive system: nausea and vomiting. Systemic manifestations: fatigue, facial flushing, sweating, and local pain at injection. Elevated liver aminotransferase and allergic vasculitis are occasionally seen.

Precautions

It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to sympathomimetic amines or any of the ingredients of this drug.

Drug Interactions

It is not recommended to use terbutaline sulfate and other sympathomimetic amines together because the combined use is harmful to the patient's cardiovascular system. Monoamine aminotransferase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants: Terbutaline should be used with caution in patients who are currently using monoamine aminotransferase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants or within 2 weeks of stopping such drugs, because combined use may increase adverse reactions in the vascular system. β-blockers: β-adrenergic receptor blockers not only block the effects of β-agonists (such as terbutaline sulfate) on the lungs, but may also cause severe bronchospasm in asthma patients. Under normal circumstances, asthma patients should not use β-blockers. However, in certain circumstances such as prevention after myocardial infarction, there is no alternative medicine, and asthma patients can only use β-adrenergic receptor blockers. In

Storage

Keep in a dark, airtight, cool place. The validity period is tentatively 24 months.
