Metronidazole vaginal suppository

This product has anti-anaerobic and anti-trichomonal effects. It also has anti-inflammatory effects that reduce capillary permeability, reduce exudation, promote wound healing, and maintain local vaginal tissue metabolism; it enhances the body's nonspecific immune function and improves the mucosal disease resistance.

This product is a compound preparation, each tablet contains 0.5 grams of metronidazole, 0.025 grams of ginseng stem and leaf saponins, and 0.04 grams of vitamin E.

This product is a white or slightly yellow suppository.

Used for senile vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis and bacterial vaginosis.

Before going to bed, wash the vulva and insert the suppository deep into the vagina with your fingers, once a night, 1 pill at a time. A course of treatment is 7 days.

Local adverse reactions are rare. Because this product can be absorbed from the mucosa, long-term and large-scale use can also produce the same adverse reactions as systemic medication: 1. It can cause epileptic seizures and peripheral neuropathy, the latter of which is mainly manifested by numbness and paresthesia of the extremities. In some cases, long-term use of the drug can cause persistent peripheral neuropathy. 2. Other common adverse reactions include: (1) Gastrointestinal reactions, such as nausea, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, taste changes, dry mouth, metallic taste in the mouth, etc. (2) Reversible neutropenia. (3) Allergic reactions, rash, urticaria, itching, etc. (4) Central nervous system symptoms, such as headache, dizziness, syncope, paresthesia, limb numbness, ataxia and mental confusion. (5) Other symptoms include elevated serum aminotransferase, fever, cystitis, difficulty urinating, dark urine color, etc., which are all reversible and will recover on their own after stopping the drug.

It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to this product or azole drugs and those with active central nervous system diseases and blood diseases.

Precautions for children: Children should use with caution. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: Animal experiments have found that metronidazole is toxic to the fetus after intraperitoneal administration. However, there is currently a lack of sufficient and rigorous controlled studies on pregnant and lactating women, so pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using this product. Precautions for the elderly: Due to decreased liver function, the pharmacokinetics of this product are changed when used in the elderly, so it should be used with caution.
