Function and Efficacy

This product is a semi-synthetic derivative of lincomycin, and its mechanism of action is to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. This product has the same antibacterial spectrum as lincomycin, and has antibacterial effects on Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, hemolytic Streptococcus, viridans Streptococcus, Pneumococcus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, and anaerobic bacteria such as Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Bacteroides fragilis, Fusobacterium, Eubacterium, and Propionibacterium. Enterococci are resistant to this product.

The main ingredient of this product is clindamycin phosphate. Its chemical name is 6-(1-methyl-trans-4-propyl-L-2-pyrrolidinecarboxamido)-1-thio-7-(S)-chloro-6,7,8-trideoxy.

Indication

The following infectious diseases caused by Gram-positive bacteria: 1. Tonsillitis, suppurative otitis media, sinusitis, etc. 2. Usage and Dosage

This product can be administered by deep intramuscular injection or intravenous drip. When intravenously dripping, every 0.3g needs to be diluted with 50-100ml of normal saline or 5% glucose solution to a concentration of less than 6mg/ml, and drip slowly, usually not more than 20mg per minute. 1. Mild to moderate infection: 0.6-1.2g per day for adults, divided into 2-4 doses (q12h-q6h); 15-25mg/kg per day for children, divided into 2-4 doses (q12h-q6h). 2. Severe infection: 1.2-2.7g per day for adults, divided into 2-4 doses (q12h-q6h); 25-40mg/kg per day for children, divided into 2-4 doses (q12h-q6h).

Adverse Reactions

1. After intramuscular injection, mild pain may occasionally occur at the injection site. Long-term intravenous infusion may cause phlebitis. 2. Gastrointestinal reactions: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea may occur occasionally. 3. Allergic reactions: a small number of patients may develop drug-induced rashes. 4. Occasionally, it may cause neutropenia or eosinophilia. 5. A small number of patients may experience transient alkaline phosphatase, mild elevation of serum aminotransferase and jaundice. 6. A very small number of patients may develop pseudomembranous colitis

Precautions

This product has cross-resistance with lincomycin and clindamycin and is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to clindamycin or lincomycin.

Drug Interactions

This product is antagonistic to erythromycin and should not be used together.
