Estradiol compound patch

Estradiol is the estrogen with the highest receptor activity level secreted by the ovaries in women of childbearing age. After menopause, the ovaries fail and the production of estradiol almost stops, causing vascular dysfunction and unstable body temperature regulation. Clinical manifestations include hot flashes, sweating, sleep disorders, urogenital atrophy and osteoporosis. Transdermal administration can allow estradiol to enter the blood directly according to physiological needs, increase the blood concentration of estradiol to the early follicular level, act on the target organs, and significantly reduce or eliminate the above symptoms. Norethindrone acetate is a highly active synthetic progestin that can mimic the biological activity of physiological progesterone. Its effect on tissues depends on the stimulation of estrogen, thereby transforming the endometrium in the proliferative phase into the endometrium in the secretory phase. The reduction in progesterone concentration can lead to the shedding of the endometrium. Adding 12-14 days of progesterone in each cycle of estrogen replacement therapy can prevent estrogen from overstimulating the endometrium and reduce the phenomenon of endometrial hyperplasia.

This product is a compound preparation. Each tablet contains 10 mg of estradiol and 30 mg of norethindrone acetate.

The sticky sheet containing estradiol and norethindrone acetate is coated on an aluminum-plastic film, and the drug surface is colorless, transparent or slightly milky white.

It is suitable for the following symptoms caused by estrogen deficiency due to various reasons: hot flashes, sweating, sleep disorders, dizziness, genital atrophy, atrophic vaginitis, vaginal dryness, etc. It can also prevent osteoporosis caused by accelerated bone loss after menopause.

For external use: After removing the protective film on the patch, immediately apply it to the clean, dry, and non-injured skin of the lower abdomen or buttocks. Use one estradiol sustained-release patch per week for two weeks. In the last two weeks, use the compound estradiol patch twice a week, one patch each time, for two weeks. Immediately apply the estradiol sustained-release patch after removing the last compound estradiol patch. The patch site should be changed frequently. The same skin site should not be applied twice in a row, and it should not be applied to the breast area.

The skin at the patch site may have mild redness or itching symptoms, and occasionally a rash. Dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, a small amount of vaginal bleeding, and lower body edema may also occur.

It is contraindicated for patients with suspected or existing breast tumors, suspected or existing estrogen-dependent tumors, unexplained irregular vaginal bleeding, active thrombophlebitis or thromboembolism, patients with a history of thrombophlebitis or thrombosis due to estrogen use, and patients with endometriosis.

Precautions for children: data is still lacking. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: this product is contraindicated during pregnancy. Precautions for the elderly: data is still lacking.

Liver microsome inducers such as barbiturates, phenytoin, carbamazepine, meprobamate (Meprobamate), and indomethacin may reduce the activity of estrogen and progesterone.

Seal and store in a cool place. Keep out of the reach of children.
