Thioridazine Hydrochloride Tablets

This product is a phenothiazine antipsychotic. Its antipsychotic effect is mainly due to blocking dopamine receptors in the brain. It has a weak effect on dopamine receptors in the extrapyramidal system and the body temperature center, and its sedative effect is also weak.

The main ingredient of this product is: Thioridazine hydrochloride. Its chemical name is: 10-[2-(1-methyl-2-piperidinyl)ethyl]-2-methylthiophenothiazine hydrochloride.

This product is a sugar-coated tablet. After removing the sugar coating, it appears white or off-white.

Acute and chronic schizophrenia and ADHD in children.

Oral. The initial dose is 25 mg once, 3 times a day. Increase by 25 mg every 2 to 3 days, gradually increasing to the optimal dose. 1 mg/kg per day for children aged 1 to 5 years, 5 to 15 mg per day for children over 5 years old, divided into two doses.

Common adverse reactions include dry mouth, tachycardia, blurred vision, etc. Drowsiness, dizziness, nasal congestion, postural hypotension, diarrhea, abdominal distension, abnormal electrocardiogram, toxic liver damage, long-term use can cause pigmentary retinopathy, most of which disappear after stopping the drug. It rarely causes extrapyramidal adverse reactions such as tremor, drooling, bradykinesia, akathisia and acute dystonia.

Patients with coma or leukopenia are prohibited from using this product. 3. Patients who are allergic to phenothiazines and this product are prohibited from using this product.

1. This product can enhance the central inhibitory effect of analgesics, hypnotics, antihistamines, anesthetics and ethanol. 2. It should not be used in combination with quinidine.
