Appearance

This product is a granule with flavoring agent; it has a fragrant smell and a sweet taste.

Usage and Dosage

Oral administration: 1-2g per day for adults, divided into 3-4 times; 20-30mg/kg per day for children, divided into 3-4 times. For the treatment of Legionnaires' disease, 0.5-1.0g per time, 4 times a day for adults. When used as a preventive medication for recurrent rheumatic fever, 0.25g per time, 2 times a day. When used as a preventive medication for infective endocarditis, 1g is taken orally 1 hour before surgery, and 0.5g is taken 6 hours after surgery.

Adverse Reactions

1. Hepatotoxic reactions are more common after taking this product than after taking other erythromycin preparations. After taking the medicine for several days or 1 to 2 weeks, patients may experience fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, fever, etc. Jaundice may sometimes occur, and liver function tests show cholestasis, which can usually be recovered after stopping the drug. 2. Gastrointestinal reactions include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, pain in the mouth and tongue, decreased appetite, etc., and the incidence is related to the dosage. 3. When used in large doses (≥4g/day), especially in patients with liver and kidney diseases or elderly patients, hearing loss may be caused, which is mainly related to the excessively high blood drug concentration (12mg/L), and most of them can be recovered after stopping the drug. 4. Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: 1. Erythromycin granules can pass through the placenta and enter the fetal circulation, and pregnant women are more likely to experience hepatotoxic reactions after taking erythromycin granules, so pregnant women should not use it. 2.
