Function and Efficacy
This product is a major alkaloid contained in the rhizome of the plant Coptis chinensis of the Ranunculaceae family. It can be extracted from Coptis chinensis, Phellodendron chinense or Tripterygium wilfordii, or it can be synthesized artificially. This product has only a weak antibacterial effect on bacteria, but is effective against intestinal infections caused by Shigella dysenteriae and Escherichia coli.
Ingredients
Each tablet of this product contains 0.1g of berberine hydrochloride as the main ingredient, and the auxiliary materials are starch, hydroxypropyl cellulose, micro-powder silica gel, magnesium stearate, sucrose, talcum powder, dextrin, pigment, and tartrazine. Indication
Used to treat intestinal infections and diarrhea.
Usage and Dosage

Adverse Reactions
Oral adverse reactions are rare, occasionally including nausea, vomiting, rash and drug fever, which disappear after stopping the drug.
Precautions
It is contraindicated in patients with hemolytic anemia and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
