Appearance
This product is white or slightly yellowish tablets.
Indication
Nutritional metabolic disorders, malnutrition-induced liver cirrhosis, malnutrition, parathyroid osteodystrophy, and nutritional megaloblastic anemia.
Usage and Dosage
Oral administration, 50-100 mg at a time, 100-300 mg per day.
Adverse Reactions
1. Long-term use of 2-3g per day may cause scurvy after discontinuation of the drug. 2. Long-term use of large amounts of vitamin C may occasionally cause urate, cysteine or oxalate stones. 3. Large amounts (daily dosage of more than 1g) may cause diarrhea, red and shiny skin, headache, frequent urination (daily dosage of more than 600mg), nausea and vomiting, and stomach cramps.
Precautions
1 Vitamin C should be taken on an empty stomach, but patients with gastrointestinal ulcers should use it with caution to avoid irritation to the ulcer surface, which may lead to worsening of the ulcer, bleeding or perforation. 2 People with poor renal function should not take too much vitamin C. Long-term overdose of vitamin C may cause excessive gastric acid, gastric reflux, and even urinary stones. People with kidney deficiency in particular should take less vitamin C. 3 Do not stop taking vitamin C suddenly after taking a large amount of it. If you stop taking it suddenly, it will cause withdrawal reactions from the drug, aggravate or relapse the symptoms. You should gradually reduce the dosage until you stop taking it completely. 4 Vitamin C should not be used in combination with isoniazid, aminophylline, streptomycin, penicillin and sulfonamides; otherwise, the efficacy of the above drugs will be reduced or ineffective due to the acidic environment. 5 Vitamin C is destructive to vitamin A.
Special Population Medication
Precautions for children: Not yet clear. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product can pass through the placenta and be secreted into breast milk. Pregnant women who consume a large amount of this product every day may be harmful to the fetus, but this has not been confirmed by animal experiments. Precautions for the elderly: Not yet clear.
Drug Interactions
1 Oral administration of large doses of vitamin C (more than 10g per day) can interfere with the anticoagulant effect of anticoagulants. 2 Combination with barbiturates or primidone can increase the excretion of vitamin C. 3 Sodium cellulose phosphate can promote the metabolism of vitamin C into oxalate. 4 Long-term or large-scale use of vitamin C can interfere with the effect of disulfiram on ethanol. 5 Salicylic acid can increase the excretion of vitamin C. 6 Combination with levodopa can reduce the efficacy of levodopa. 7 Combination with heparin or warfarin can cause a shortening of the prothrombin time.
