Vitamin C tablets

Function and Efficacy

Vitamin C participates in many reactions in the body, such as participating in the redox process, and plays an important role in biological oxidation and reduction and cellular respiration. From the tissue level, the main role of vitamin C is related to the synthesis of intercellular matrix. Including collagen, the matrix of teeth and bones, and the junction between capillary endothelial cells. Therefore, when scurvy caused by vitamin C deficiency is accompanied by collagen synthesis defects, it manifests as difficult wound healing, impaired tooth formation and capillary damage causing a large number of ecchymosis points, which merge to form ecchymosis.

Ingredients

Each tablet of this product contains 100 mg of vitamin C as the main ingredient, and starch as the auxiliary ingredient.

Appearance

This product is white or slightly yellowish tablets.

Indication

Used to prevent and treat scurvy and various acute and chronic infectious diseases to enhance the body's resistance, and as an auxiliary treatment during the recovery period after illness, wound healing, and allergic diseases.

Usage and Dosage

Oral use: Adults take 1 tablet at a time, 3 times a day.

Adverse Reactions

1. Long-term use of 2-3g per day may cause scurvy after discontinuation of the drug. 2. Long-term use of large amounts of vitamin C may occasionally cause urate, cysteine or oxalate stones. 3. Large amounts (daily dosage of more than 1g) may cause diarrhea, red and shiny skin, headache, frequent urination (daily dosage of more than 600mg), nausea and vomiting, and stomach cramps.

Precautions

1 Vitamin C should be taken on an empty stomach, but patients with peptic ulcers should use it with caution to avoid irritation to the ulcer surface, which may lead to worsening, bleeding or perforation of the ulcer. 2 People with poor renal function should not take more vitamin C. Long-term overdose of vitamin C may cause excessive gastric acid, gastric reflux, and even urinary stones. Especially people with kidney deficiency should take less vitamin C. 3 Do not stop taking vitamin C suddenly after taking a large amount of vitamin C. If you stop taking it suddenly, it will cause withdrawal reactions of the drug, aggravate or relapse the symptoms. You should gradually reduce the dosage until you stop taking it completely. 4 Vitamin C should not be used in combination with isoniazid, aminophylline, streptomycin, penicillin and sulfonamides; otherwise, the efficacy of the above drugs will be reduced or ineffective due to the acidic environment. 5 Vitamin C has a destructive effect on vitamin A. Especially after taking a large amount of vitamin C, it will promote the excretion of vitamin A and folic acid in the body. Therefore, when taking a large amount of vitamin C, you must pay attention to the adequate intake of vitamin A and folic acid. 7 Taking vitamin C together with enteric-coated aspirin tablets will accelerate its excretion and reduce its efficacy. 8 Do not take ginseng while taking vitamin C. 9 Taking vitamin C together with folic acid will also weaken their respective effects. If it must be used to treat anemia, it can be used intermittently and cannot be taken at the same time. 10 Taking drugs indiscriminately will cause the loss of vitamin C in the body. If you take drugs indiscriminately without the permission of a doctor, it will not only damage your health, but also cause the loss of vitamin C in the body. 11 Vitamin C tablets should be stored in a cool place away from light to prevent deterioration and ineffectiveness. 12 Avoid eating animal liver when taking vitamin C. Vitamin C is easily oxidized. If it encounters copper ions, the oxidation rate can be accelerated. Animal liver contains a high content of copper. If you eat animal liver while taking vitamin C, vitamin C will quickly oxidize and lose its biological function.
