Ursodeoxycholic acid tablets
Function and Efficacy
Ursodeoxycholic acid accounts for a small part of human bile. After oral administration of ursodeoxycholic acid, the cholesterol saturation in bile is reduced by inhibiting the reabsorption of cholesterol in the intestine and reducing the secretion of cholesterol into bile. Cholesterol stones are gradually dissolved, probably due to the dispersion of cholesterol and the formation of liquid crystals. According to existing knowledge, the treatment of liver and cholestatic diseases with ursodeoxycholic acid capsules is mainly based on the relative replacement of lipophilic, detergent-like toxic bile acids by hydrophilic, cytoprotective and non-cytotoxic ursodeoxycholic acid, as well as the promotion of hepatocyte secretion and immunomodulation.
Ingredients
The main ingredient of this product is ursodeoxycholic acid. Its chemical name is 3a,7b-dihydroxy-5b-cholestane-24-acid.

Usage and Dosage
Adult oral administration: 8-10 mg/kg daily, divided into two doses during the morning and evening meals. The shortest course of treatment is 6 months. If there is no improvement in ultrasound examination and cholecystography after 6 months, the drug can be discontinued; if the stones have partially dissolved, continue to take the drug until the stones are completely dissolved.
Adverse Reactions
The toxicity and side effects of this product are less than those of chenodeoxycholic acid. It generally does not cause diarrhea.
