Naftopidil Tablets

1. Naftopidil is a selective alpha 1 receptor antagonist that can inhibit the increase in blood pressure caused by alpha 1 receptors. Pharmacodynamic tests have shown that this product has a hypotensive effect on a variety of hypertensive animal models, with a long duration of hypotension, and does not cause reflex tachycardia during hypotension. No obvious first-dose effect or drug resistance was observed after multiple oral administrations. The results of cardiac hemodynamic tests showed that this product can reduce the total peripheral resistance of anesthetized open-chest dogs, dilate peripheral blood vessels, and have no significant effect on cardiac output. 2. This product can also relieve the sympathetic tension of the prostate and urethra caused by the excitement of the receptor through the alpha 1 receptor blocking effect, reduce the intraurethral pressure, and improve symptoms such as urination disorders caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia.

1. For the relief of BPH urinary tract obstruction symptoms: Oral. Usually the initial dose for adults is 25 mg (1 tablet) once a day, taken before bedtime. The dose can be adjusted appropriately according to the clinical efficacy. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 75 mg (3 tablets). Elderly patients should start with a low dose (12.5 mg/day) and pay attention to monitoring. 2. For the antihypertensive treatment of hypertension: The use of this product should be individualized according to the condition and the physician's clinical judgment. The commonly used starting dose is 25 mg (one tablet) each time, twice a day. After two weeks, the dose can be adjusted according to the degree of decrease in the patient's blood pressure. The recommended dose range is twice a day, 25-50 mg each time.

Occasionally, dizziness, vertigo on standing, heaviness of the head, headache, tinnitus, constipation, stomach discomfort, edema, chills, increased AST and increased ALT may occur.

It is contraindicated for those who have a history of allergy to the ingredients of this product.

Precautions for children: This product is only used for urination disorders caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia in adult male patients. Children are prohibited from using this product. Precautions for pregnancy and lactation: This product is only used for urination disorders caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia in adult male patients. Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using this product. Precautions for the elderly: This product is mainly metabolized by the liver. Most elderly patients have decreased liver function, which causes a continuous increase in plasma concentration and delayed excretion. Therefore, this product should be used with caution, or the dosage should be reduced as appropriate (for example, taking 12.5 mg, etc.). In clinical trials, 80 elderly patients over 75 years old who took this product had the following adverse reactions: dizziness (2 cases), edema (2 cases), decreased blood pressure (1 case), chills (1 case), eosinophilia (1 case), increased AST and A-T (1 case), increased alkaline phosphatase (1 case), increased uric acid (1 case), and increased serum potassium (1 case).

This product has a synergistic effect with antihypertensive drugs and diuretics, so reduce the dosage when taking them simultaneously.
