Chemical properties: White powder. Absorbs water and has a slight odor of formic acid. Soluble in water and glycerin, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether.
Uses: It is an intermediate for the production of formic acid and oxalic acid. It is also used for the production of dimethylformamide, etc. Also used in medicine, printing and dyeing industry. It is also a precipitating agent for heavy metals
