Description
This product is mainly used in pharmaceutical intermediates and is the source of anxiolytic drugs calld Trimetazidine.
Chemical properties: The product has a melting point of 82-84°C and a boiling point of 274-275°C.
Uses: This product is an intermediate of antimicrobial synergist trimethoprim.
Uses: It is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. It is the main raw material production method of the anxiolytic drug trimetolazine, gastrointestinal drug trimebutine maleate, etc. It is prepared by the methylation reaction of gallic acid and dimethyl sulfate. Add water, gallic acid and dimethyl sulfate to the reaction pot, add sodium hydroxide solution dropwise at 15-35°C, and stir at about 40°C for half an hour. Then add the second batch of dimethyl sulfate, and drop the sodium hydroxide solution at around 40°C until the pH is 8-9. After continuing the reaction for 1h, it was cooled, filtered, washed and dried to obtain methyl trimethoxybenzoate with a yield of more than 90%. The above methylation and esterification reactions can also be carried out using tetrabutylammonium bromide as a phase transfer catalyst in water and chloroform. The product can also be prepared by using tannic acid as raw material or by esterification of 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoic acid and methanol.Basic Info-
