Potassium Sodium Silicate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

In the dry method, a certain proportion of potassium carbonate, sodium carbonate and silica sand are mixed into the reverberatory furnace, and the temperature is controlled at 1400~1450℃ to melt. The melt is quenched into pieces with cold water at the discharge port, and then melted by heating, and then placed in a clear tank. After 24 hours of sedimentation, the clear liquid is evaporated and concentrated to obtain the finished product of potassium sodium silicate. Wet process the white carbon black, caustic potash and water into the reactor for reaction. The potassium silicate is cleared and then added to 40°Bé sodium water glass, and steam is heated to react to obtain potassium sodium silicate. .

Uses

Used as fluorescent screen phosphor and precision casting adhesive. It is also used as a self-adhesive for coatings in the manufacture of welding electrodes. It is the raw material for producing inorganic paint, vat dye and silicon compound.
