    main indicators:
The main indicators of activated carbon are: indicators of physical properties such as particle size, strength, moisture, water capacity, bulk density, particle density, true density, specific surface area, ash, etc. and indicators of adsorption performance such as benzene adsorption rate and carbon tetrachloride activity. . The activated carbon at low temperature (400 ℃) is called L-carbon, and the activated carbon at high temperature (900 ℃) is called H-carbon. H-carbon must be cooled in an inert atmosphere, otherwise it will be converted to L-carbon. The adsorption performance of activated carbon is related to the chemical properties and concentration of the gas during oxidation activation, activation temperature, activation degree, composition and content of inorganic substances in activated carbon, etc., which mainly depend on the nature of the activation gas and activation temperature. The carbon content, specific surface area, ash content of activated carbon and the pH value of its aqueous suspension all increase with the activation temperature. The higher the activation temperature, the more complete the evaporation of residual volatile substances, the more developed the microporous structure, and the greater the specific surface area and adsorption activity. With the removal of volatiles from the carbon, the ash content in the carbon increases. The ash in activated carbon is mainly composed of K2O, Na2O, CaO, MgO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, P2O5, SO3, Cl-, etc. The composition and content of ash have a great influence on the adsorption activity of carbon. Generally, the ash content of activated carbon can be removed or reduced by immersing in hydrochloric acid or hydrofluoric acid and then washing with water. The ash content of activated carbon is related to the raw material for making activated carbon. The content of hydrogen and oxygen in activated carbon decreases with the increase of activation temperature. The adsorption capacity of activated carbon for acid or alkali is related to the pH value of the aqueous suspension. The activated carbon that reduces the pH of distilled water has a strong adsorption capacity for alkali; the activated carbon that increases the pH of distilled water has a strong adsorption capacity for acid . The mechanical strength of activated carbon is related to the raw material and carbonization temperature of activated carbon. When the carbonization temperature exceeds 700 ℃, its mechanical strength will increase significantly. In addition to being widely used in wastewater purification and analytical chemistry, activated carbon is mainly used to extract gold and silver in the chemical beneficiation process
