Description

Molecular formula: [CH3 (CH2) 16COO] 2Zn

Properties: The appearance of zinc stearate is a fine white powder. It has a smooth feel, no sand, fatty smell, easy to absorb moisture, non-toxic, smooth, flammable, insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol, turpentine, benzene and other organic Solvent. In case of strong acid, it decomposes into stearic acid and corresponding zinc salt.

The main purpose

It is used in the processing of PVC non-toxic products. It has a synergistic effect with calcium stearate and barium stearate, and can effectively improve the light stability of PVC products. The amount of PVC processing is usually <1 part; it is used for rubber products. It is used for the manufacture of PP, PE, PS, EPS polymer additives and several pencil cores. The general dosage is 1-3 parts

Appearance:

Zinc stearate is a white, hydrophobic powder with a slight, characteristic odor. Mp: 130°C. Density: 1.1 g cm-3. Insoluble in water, ethyl alcohol and diethyl ether. Soluble in acids. Non-toxic. In technical grades, the percentage of zinc may vary according to the intended use. Products with less than the theoretical amount of zinc are more acidic.
