Application
Midas’s Multifunctional additive is a blend of anionic and nonionic surfactants, a glycol and selected alcohols designed to minimize sludge precipitation and mitigate corrosion in low temperature acid stimulation applications. It is an anti-sludge, non-emulsifier and corrosion inhibitor.This product is a balanced, multipurpose package formulated with multifunctional, corrosion inhibitor and non-emulsifier components.
As with other multifunctional additives, a precise loading level should be predetermined by testing the package with well fluids that will be contacted during the application. Generally, 2 to 20 gallons per 1000 gallons of acid (0.2 to 2 volume percent) has proven to be effective.

MIDAS Multifunctional agent is a mixture of surfactants which reduces surface and interfacial tension and water wets the surface of solids. Reduces the acid surface tension and improves the dispersing and suspending ability of in organics particles and fines in the acid solution.
Improves the penetrating ability of acid and promotes foamy returns in spent acid and aqueous fracturing fluids.
Most crude oils contain asphaltenes, which are a colloidal dispersion of high molecular weight aromatic molecules. The use of acid for stimulation purposes upsets the equilibrium of the colloidal dispersion of the asphaltene particles and causes them to precipitate as high viscosity sludge.
Multifunctional additive is formulated to provide non-emulsifying, surface-tension reducing and anti-sludging properties.
Multifunctional additive is specifically designed to minimize the destabilization of the asphaltene colloidal
dispersion when contacted by acid during a stimulation job.

Multifunctional mixture reduce the surface tension and/or interfacial tension between fluids, between fluid and formation, and between fluid and tubular surfaces.
Their use is common in all types of treating fluids. Surfactants aid in formation cleanup through their ability to prevent emulsions, and altering wet conditions.

It is a flammable material. Handling must be with care.
Prolonged or repeated contact may irritate the skin.
Material is absorbed through skin and may cause systemic poisoning.
Vapors will irritate the eyes. Ingestion of 100-200 ml can be fatal .
