Tris is full name of trimethylol aminomethane. It is white crystalline particles in appearance. CAS number is 77-86-1. Tris, as the most commonly used raw material for buffer preparation, is widely used in biochemistry and molecular biology experiments. In addition, Tris is an intermediate for the preparation of surfactants, vulcanization accelerators and some drugs. Because it has three equal hydroxyl groups, it can also be used as a good reducing agent. The classical methods for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles are sodium citrate reduction, phase transfer and seed growth.
