    DISODIUM PHOSPHATE DODECAHYDRATE

    Chemical formula: Na2HPO4.12H2O

    Molecular weight: 358.14

Properties: White crystal, relative density is 1.52. It is soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol, and its aqueous solution shows alkaline. The melting point is 35.1 centigrade. In the normal temperature, it loses 5 crystal waters and becomes sodium hydrogen phosphate heptahydrate. Heating it up to 100 centigrade, it loses 12 crystal waters and becomes sodium phosphate anhydrous. Decompounds to sodium pyrophosphate anhydrous at 250 centigrade. Drying it carefully below 34 centigrade, it becomes disodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate. It is easy to airslake in the dry air.
