      Product Detail

Magnesium Oxide commonly known as bitter earth, also known as magnesia.  It is a typical alkaline earth metal oxide, chemical formula MgO.  White powder, melting point 2852℃, boiling point 3600℃, relative density 3.58(25℃).  Soluble in acid and ammonium solution.  Slowly react with water to form magnesium hydroxide.  It can dissolve in carbon dioxide aqueous solution and produce magnesium bicarbonate.  In the air can gradually absorb water and carbon dioxide, heating emit irritating smoke.  Magnesite (MgCO3), dolomite (MgCO3·CaCO3) and seawater are the main raw materials for the production of magnesium oxide.  Thermal decomposition of magnesite or dolomite to obtain magnesium oxide.  Magnesium hydroxide precipitation is obtained by treating seawater with hydrated lime, and magnesium oxide is obtained by burning magnesium hydroxide.  It can also use the magnesium chloride halogen block obtained from the comprehensive utilization of seawater or the brine after bromine extraction as raw material, add sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate to generate magnesium hydroxide or basic magnesium carbonate precipitation, and then burn magnesium oxide.  At present, China mainly uses magnesite, dolomite, brine or halogen block as raw materials.  The production of magnesium oxide is the largest among magnesium compounds, accounting for about 3/4 of the Chemicalbook of all magnesium industrial products.  Magnesium oxide prepared below 900℃ is light magnesium oxide, with small density, large specific surface area and strong adsorption.  It can be used as catalyst, rubber filler and accelerator for improving rubber properties.  Mix with magnesium chloride solution to make magnesium cement.  Used as flame retardants in building materials.  Medically, it is used as an antacid and laxative for hyperacidity in the stomach and ulcer of the stomach and duodenum. It is often used in combination with calcium carbonate, which is easy to cause constipation.  Used as animal feed additive and plant fertilizer.  The light magnesium oxide prepared at 950 ~ 1050℃ has high density and particle distribution in a certain range, and is easy to be combined with water.  Using the properties of magnesium silicate film which reacts with silicon dioxide on the surface of silicon steel at high temperature, it can be used as the isolator of silicon steel plate to prevent sintering adhesion of silicon steel plate at high temperature.  The heavy magnesium oxide prepared at 1500 ~ 1800℃ has high density, small specific surface area, low chemical activity, low acid reaction and low hydration rate.  Used as high temperature refractory, refractory crucible manufacturing and furnace lining with adhesive, etc.
