It is easily soluble in ether, soluble in ethanol and water. Form R has a melting point of 13Chemicalbook 3°C, [α]-159.73°(ethanol), and gradually racemizes at 160°C. Type S has a melting point of 133.8°C, [α]+156.57° (water).
