Description

Secnidazole is an antiamoebic and antitrichomonas drug. It is a 5-nitroimidazole anti-protozoal and anaerobic drug, which acts on the growth period of protozoa or anaerobic bacteria, disrupting the DNA strand or inhibiting the synthesis of DNA, leading to the death of protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. Secnidazole has strong killing effect on trichomonas in genitourinary organs, amoebic protozoa and Giardia in intestines and tissues.

Secnidazole is mainly used to treat the following diseases.

1. urethritis and vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.

2, intestinal amebiasis.

3, hepatic amebiasis.

4, Giardia lamblia
