L-threonine is isolated and identified from fibrin hydrolysate. It has been proved to be the last essential amino acid found. It is the second or third limiting amino acid of livestock and poultry. It plays an extremely important physiological role in animals.

Applications

The dosage of L-threonine in feed additives increases rapidly. It is often added to the feed of juvenile piglets and poultry. It is the second limiting amino acid of pig feed and the third limiting amino acid of poultry feed. Adding L-threonine into formula feed has the following characteristics:
1. It can adjust the amino acid balance of feed and promote the growth of livestock;
2. It can improve meat quality;
3. It can improve the nutritional value of feed with low amino acid digestibility;
