Cyclohexanone/CYC

Cyclohexanone, is an organic compound, the chemical formula is C6H10O, carbonyl carbon atoms included in the six membered ring saturated cycloketone. Colorless transparent liquid, with an earthy smell, containing traces of phenol, with a mint smell. Impurity is light yellow, with storage time generated impurities and color, water white to gray yellow, with a strong pungent smell. Mixed with air explosion pole with open chain saturated ketone. In the industry is mainly used as organic synthesis raw materials and solvents, such as it can dissolve cellulose nitrate, paint, paint, etc.

It can be oxidized by air, oxygen or nitric acid in the presence of catalyst to produce HOOC(CH2)4COOH. Cyclohexanone oxime rearranges in the presence of acid to form caprolactam. They are the raw materials of nylon 66 and nylon 6 respectively. Cyclohexanone is prone to self-condensation in the presence of base. It also reacts easily with acetylene. It was first obtained from calcium heptadecate. The mass production of cyclohexanone is hydrogenated by phenol and then oxidized. Colorless transparent liquid, with an earthy smell, the impurity is light yellow. Soluble in ethanol and ether.
