Sodium fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether sulfate

Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) or Sodium lauryl sulfate SLS (NaC12H25SO4), one of the most commonly used surfactants, is a main ingredient in dish soap. White or light yellow powder, soluble in water, not sensitive to alkali and hard water.
It is often used in DNA extraction to denature proteins and separate them from DNA. Commonly misread as sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS') (NaC12H25SO3). Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is widely used as a foaming agent in toothpaste, soap, shower gel, shampoo, laundry detergent, and cosmetics. Sodium lauryl sulfate is found in 95% of personal skin care products and household cleaning products.
With decontamination, emulsification and excellent foaming power, it is a kind of anionic surfactants slightly toxic to human body, and its biodegradability > 90%.
