Methyl acetate is an organic compound, the molecular formula is C3H6O2, mainly used as an organic solvent, is the raw material of painted artificial leather and spices.

Colorless liquid with aromatic flavor. Relative density 0.93. Melting point 98.1℃. The boiling point is 57℃. Flash point -10℃. Refractive index 1.3594. Heat of vaporization 410. 8J/g. Specific heat capacity 2.1J/(g. C). Vapor pressure (20℃) 22.64kPa. It is missoluble with alcohol and ether, and the solubility in water is 31.9g/lOOmL (20℃). Easy to hydrolyze. Flammable.
