【Usage】Praziquantel is the newest generation broad-spectrum antiparasitic with high efficacy for a variety of schistosomes, paragonimus westermani, fasciolopsiasis, tapeworms and cysticercus (eye worm is excluded) and meanwhile inhibits the glycometabolism of the worm efficiently. Especially, praziquantel has the character of small dose and short time for curing schistosomiasis.

Solubility (g/100m1): 9.7 in ethanol, 56.7 in chloroform, and 0.04 in water. It is easily soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), but insoluble in ether. It has a melting point of 136~141 ℃. Praziquantel therapy has been reported to cause serum aminotransferase elevations during therapy, but clinically apparent liver injury after its use is rare if it occurs at all.
