      Description

Sericite is a layered silicate mineral exhibiting a silky luster. It is a subspecies of white mica, appearing as a microfine grain variant of white mica. Its chemical formula is: KAl2(AISi3O10)(OH)2, can be peeled into very thin flakes, flexible and bendable. It demonstrates good resistance to acids and alkalis, salt spray, high temperatures (above 600°C), electrical insulation, and wear. Its unique layered structure offers water vapor barrier properties and a smooth skin feel. It is widely used in rubber, plastic, paint, ceramics, cosmetics, and other industries.

      Features

Our cosmetic-grade sericite boasts high natural whiteness, low levels of heavy metals, low α-quartz content (<1%), a matte finish, silky skin feel, superior powder pressing performance, and small particle size (D50=4.5~5.5μm), making it an excellent substitute for talc. It is utilized by numerous well-known brands and has received consistent positive feedback from both domestic and international customers.

    ❶ Self-owned mine

We own 0.4565 square kilometers of mining rights for the Ma'anshan sericite mine in Mianning County. Initial proven reserves of 10 million tonnes, mostly mud-like output, high whiteness, small natural grain size. Through agitation and dispersion, it is very easy to separate impurity minerals, and the sericite products obtained are of extremely high purity and are very rare and highly sought-after globally.

    ❷ Patented Technology
The application of patented technology can separate and remove impurities, and reduce the content of heavy metals.

    ❸ Silicon Reduction Technology

Can reduce α-quartz content to less than 1%.The obtained high-quality sericite powder with ultra-low α-quartz is exported to Japan, Korea, USA, France, and other countries, and is highly praised by customers.

❹ High Natural Whiteness, Small Natural Particle Size and Thin Flake.

The products have a natural whiteness greater than 85, with a natural average particle size (unprocessed) of approximately D50 = 6.5 micrometers, and upon thorough delamination, the thickness is about 100-200nm.

      Applications

Our Cosmetic Grade Sericite Mica Powder is produced from Ma'anshan sericite mine by a special wet process and is widely used in cosmetics and personal care products. Its unique flake-like structure can shield ultraviolet rays and is commonly used in sunscreen products. Its good moisture and oil absorption properties control skin oil while providing moderate coverage and transparency, giving a natural look to makeup. Its high stability and good adhesion enhance the longevity of makeup, and it can be used in makeup and personal care products such as foundations, loose powders, face powders, talcum powders, sunscreens, and eye shadows.

MICA, a generic term, refers to any of a group of approximately 30 silicate minerals occurring as non-fibrous plates. Muscovite (hydrated aluminium potassium silicate[KAl2(AlSi3O10)(F, OH)2 ])and phlogopite (potassium magnesium aluminum silicate hydroxide) are the two major micas of commerce. Micas are commonly found in ordinary rocks. Inhalation of mica dust presents an occupational hazard.
