    Acrylic acid is an important organic synthesis raw material and synthetic resin monomer, which is a very fast polymerization rate of ethylene monomer. It is the simplest unsaturated carboxylic acid, consisting of a vinyl group and a carboxylic group. Pure acrylic is a colorless clear liquid with a characteristic pungent odor. It is miscible with water, alcohol, ether and chloroform and is prepared from propylene obtained from refineries. Most of them are used to manufacture acrylates such as methyl acrylate, ethyl ester, butyl ester and hydroxyethyl ester. Acrylics and acrylates can be homopolymerized and copolymerized, and their polymers are used in synthetic resins, synthetic fibers, superabsorbent resins, building materials, coatings and other industrial sectors. The occupational standard for acrylic acid is TLV-TWA 6 mg/m3; TWA 30 mg/m3. The Hazardous Substances Data for acrylic acid is 79-10-7(Hazardous Substances Data).


    Chemical property
    1, flammable, its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture, in case of open fire, high heat cause combustion explosion. Can react strongly with oxidizing agents. In case of high heat, polymerization reaction can occur, release a lot of heat and cause container rupture and explosion accident. In case of heat, light, moisture, peroxides and iron are easy to self-polymerize and cause explosion.

    2, with the combination of double bonds and carboxyl functional groups, can occur addition reaction, functional group reaction and transesterification reaction, long preparation of polycyclic and heterocyclic compounds, easy to be reduced to propionic acid by hydrogen, alkali can be decomposed into formic acid and acetic acid.

    3. Strong acidity. It's corrosive. Chemically active. Easily polymerized to form a transparent white powder. Propionic acid is produced during reduction. 2-chloropropionic acid is formed when added to hydrochloric acid. Acrylic acid can undergo the characteristic reaction of carboxylic acid, and the corresponding ester can be obtained by reacting with alcohol. Acrylic acids and their esters, by themselves or mixed with other monomers, will undergo polymerization reactions to form homopolymers or copolymers. Monomers commonly copolymerized with acrylic acid include amides, acrylonitrile, vinyl-containing monomers, styrene, and butadiene. These polymers are used in the production of various plastics, coatings, adhesives, elastomers, floor polish and coatings.

    4, this product has strong corrosion, moderate toxicity. Its aqueous solution or high concentration of vapor can irritate the skin and mucous membranes. The oral LD50 of rats was 590mg/kg. Be careful not to contact with acrylic solution or steam, operation should wear good overalls and work caps, protective glasses and rubber gloves. Production equipment should be sealed. Working and storage areas should have good ventilation conditions.


    Application field

Acrylics and acrylates can be homopolymerized and copolymerized, and can also be copolymerized with monomers such as acrylonitrile, styrene, butadiene, vinyl chloride and maleic anhydride. Its polymers are used in synthetic resins, adhesives, synthetic rubber, synthetic fibers, superabsorbent resins, pharmaceuticals, leather, textiles, chemical fibers, building materials, water treatment, oil extraction, coatings and other industrial sectors. Acrylic acid is one of the important raw materials of water-soluble polymer, which can be grafted with starch to produce super-strong water absorbent.

    2, through homopolymerization or copolymerization to prepare polymers, used in coatings, adhesives, solid resins, molding plastics and so on.

    3, acrylic resin preparation, rubber synthesis, coating preparation, pharmaceutical industry;

    4. Sizing the warp

    The sizing of warp yarn prepared from acrylic acid, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, acrylonitrile, ammonium polyacrylate and other raw materials can reduce the capacity of sizing and save starch compared with that of polyvinyl alcohol.

    5. Adhesive

    Acrylic acid, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and other copolymerized latex can be used as an adhesive for electrostatic flocking and hair planting, with good fastness and feel.

    6, water thickener

    High molecular weight powder was prepared by copolymer of acrylic acid and ethyl acrylate. Can be used as a thickening agent, used in oil fields, each ton of product can increase 500t crude oil, the old well oil recovery effect is better;

    (2) Adhesive acrylic acid, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, etc.;

    7, coated paper finishing agent

    Using acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, styrene and other quaternary copolymer latex as coated paper coating, color preservation does not yellowing, printing performance is good, non-stick roller, better than styrene butadiene latex can save dry coolin;

    8, polyacrylates

    The use of acrylic acid can produce a variety of polyacrylate products (such as ammonium salt, sodium salt, potassium salt, aluminum salt, nickel salt, etc.). Used as agglutinant, water treatment agent, dispersant, thickener, food preservative acid and alkali desiccant, softener and other polymer additives.
