      Product Detail

    Zinc borate is an environmentally friendly non-halogen flame retardant. It has the characteristics of non-toxic, low water solubility, high thermal stability, small particle size, small specific gravity, and good dispersibility. As an efficient flame retardant, it is widely used in plastics, Rubber, paint and other fields.

    Irregular (or diamond-shaped) white or light yellow powder. Insoluble in water, ethanol, n-butanol, benzene and acetone; easily soluble in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and dimethyl sulfoxide. Good thermal stability. Easy to disperse, non-toxic.

    Zinc borate is one of the earliest boron-based flame retardants and an important inorganic flame retardant. It is characterized by good thermal stability, low toxicity, smoke elimination, and good compounding effect with other flame retardants. After addition, it is obvious Reduces the concentration of material combustion smoke, and has obvious effects when combined with halogen-containing flame retardants and antimony trioxide. It is widely used in PVC cables, PE, EVA, PET, PBT, nylon, unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, polyamide In imines and various fire retardant coatings.

      Application fields

    1. Zinc borate can be used as a multifunctional synergistic additive for antimony oxide or other halogen flame retardants. It can effectively improve the flame retardant performance, reduce the generation of smoke during combustion, and can adjust the chemical, mechanical and electrical properties of rubber and plastic products. .
    2. As a partial or complete environmentally friendly substitute for halogen-containing flame retardants, zinc borate is being widely used in plastics and rubber; such as PVC, PE, PP, reinforced polyamide, polychloride, polystyrene, ring Oxygen resin, polyester vinyl acid resin and natural rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, chloroprene rubber, etc. It can also be used in paper, fiber fabrics, decorative panels, floor leather, wallpaper, carpets, ceramic glazes, fungicides and coatings to improve flame retardant properties.
    3. Based on other properties of zinc borate, it can also be used in areas such as anti-corrosion, far-infrared absorption, and insect-proof and anti-bacterial treatment of wood.

      Flame retardant mechanism

    The flame retardant effect of borate mainly comes from the following aspects:
    1. Can form glassy inorganic expansion coating;
    2. Can promote char formation;
    3. Can hinder the escape of volatile combustibles;
    4. It can dehydrate at high temperatures and has the functions of absorbing heat, foaming and diluting combustibles.

      Dosage

    Examples of applications of zinc borate in various raw materials are as follows:
    1. In rubber: 8%--5% (accounting for total raw materials)
    2. In plastic: 10%--25% (flame retardant masterbatch)
    3. In fiber textile: 5%-10% (accounting for total raw materials)
    4. 5%--8% in waterproof coatings (accounting for total raw materials)
    5. In ceramics: 8%--25% (accounting for total raw materials)
    6. In fire-fighting equipment: 15%--30% (accounting for total raw materials)
    7. In the paper industry: 5%---15% (accounting for total raw materials)
    8. In terms of anti-corrosion: 10%--20% (depending on the material)
    9. In terms of sterilization: 15%--25%
    10. In medicine: 5%---15%
