Ethylene glycol stearate is a chemical substance with the molecular formula C38H74O4.

Ethylene glycol stearate dissolves or emulsifies when heated in a surfactant complex, and during the cooling process, lens like crystals precipitate, resulting in a pearlescent luster. When used in liquid washing products, it can produce a significant pearl effect and increase the viscosity of the product. It also has moisturizing, hair care, and anti-static effects. It has good solubility with other types of surfactants and can reflect its stable pearlescence effect and thickening and conditioning function. No irritation to skin and no damage to hair. In contrast, the pearl produced by ethylene glycol stearate is stronger, while the pearl produced by ethylene glycol monostearate is finer.
