Hydroxy Ethryl Cellulose (HEC)

Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) is a kind of non-ionic water-soluble polymer, widely used in architectural coatings, petroleum, medicine, daily chemicals and other industries, with thickening, bonding, emulsification, dispersion, stabilization, and can retain water, form films and provide protective colloidal effect, easily soluble in cold and hot water, can provide a wide range of viscosity solutions. Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a non-ionic water-soluble polymer made of natural polymer cellulose through a series of chemical processing. It is a kind of yellowish or white, odorless and tasteless powder solid substance.

(1) Latex paint

HEC hydroxyethyl cellulose is the most commonly used thickener in latex paint. In addition to thickening the latex coating, it can also play the role of emulsification, dispersion, stability and water retention.

(2) Oil extraction:

In oil extraction, high viscosity hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC is mainly used as a tackifier in completion fluids and finishing fluids. Low viscosity HEC is used as a loss reducing agent. Hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC is used as a thickener to provide good fluidity and stability in a variety of muds needed for drilling, completion, cementing, and fracturing operations. In drilling, it can improve the slurry carrying capacity and prolong the service life of the drill bit. In bottom solid completion fluid and cement fluid, hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC's excellent water loss reduction performance prevents a large amount of water from entering the reservoir from the mud and improves reservoir productivity.

(3) Daily chemical

Hydroxyethyl cellulose HEC is an effective film forming agent, adhesive, thickener, stabilizer and dispersant in shampoo, hair spray, neutralizer, hair care agent and cosmetics, and an anti-deposition agent for dirt in washing powder. The obvious feature of detergents containing hydroxyethyl cellulose is that they can improve the smoothness and mercerization of fabrics. HEC can be used as adhesive and film forming agent in tobacco leaf recycling.

(4) Architectural coatings

HEC hydroxyethylated cellulose can be used in building products such as concrete mixes, freshly mixed mortar, plaster plaster or other clays to retain water during construction before they set and harden. In addition to improving the water retention of building products, HEC can also extend the correction and opening time of plaster or cement. Can reduce slip and flow hanging phenomenon. This can improve the construction performance, improve the work efficiency, save time, but also improve the capacity of the plaster, so as to save raw materials.
