2-Butoxy ethanol, an organic compound, is a colorless transparent liquid, soluble in water, acetone, benzene, ether, methanol, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents and mineral oil, mainly used as paint, especially nitro spray paint, quick-drying paint, varnish, enamel and paint striper with high boiling point solvent. Also used as adhesive non-active diluent, metal detergent, paint remover, fiber wetting agent, pesticide dispersant, drug extractant, resin plasticizer.

Ethylene glycol butyl ether is one of the important derivatives of ethylene oxide (EO), which is a green solvent and colorless liquid.

Colorless flammable liquid with a moderate ether taste. Soluble in 20 times water, soluble in most organic solvents and mineral oil.
