Product description
The precipitate from water is white needle-shaped crystals. Relative molecular weight 152.15. Melting point 149-151℃. Can sublime. Insoluble in cold water, soluble in hot water, ether, ethanol and ethyl acetate. Para-hydroxyphenylacetic acid forms purple-green precipitate when it meets ferric chloride. Used as pharmaceutical raw material, used in the preparation of cephalosporin antibiotics, antipyretic analgesics, etc.; pesticide raw material, used in the preparation of pyrethroid insecticides; used as a fluorescent reagent for the determination of oxidase; intermediate in organic synthesis.

Application

Organic synthesis. Organic synthesis intermediates, used in the production of β-receptor blocker atenolol and the synthesis of 4,7-dihydroxyisoflavone, the active ingredient of daidzein; also used as pesticide intermediates. Acylation reagent for phenolic compounds and amine compounds.
