What is Norfloxacin  ?

Norfloxacin is a synthetic antibacterial agent that belongs to the class of fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used to treat urinary tract infections, gynecological infections, inflammation of the prostate gland, gonorrhea and bladder infection. Eyedrops were approved for use in children older than one year of age .
Norfloxacin is used for prevention of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in cirrhotic patients who have a low ascites fluid protein level, impaired renal function, severe liver disease, have had a prior episode of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, or esophageal variceal bleeding.

  Function of Norfloxacin

  The product is a fluoroquinolone antibacterials, with broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, especially for aerobic gram-negative bacilli high antibacterial activity, on the following in vitro bacterial with good antibacterial effect:Enterobacteriaceae most bacteria, including citric acid bacterium, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacter aerogenes,enterobacter, Escherichia coli rare bacterium, Cray Borrelia bacteria of the genus, proteus, Salmonella, Shigella,yersinia genus Vibrio, etc.. 

  Application of Norfloxacin

  
  This norfloxacin is mainly used for the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria:
  1. Urogenital infections, including urinary tract infections, prostatitis, acute and chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis, gonorrhea, etc. Among them, suppositories and medicinal films are used for bacterial vaginitis caused by sensitive bacteria; pediatric powder is used for upper and lower urinary tract infections in children caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria that are only sensitive to this medicine.
  2. Digestive system infections, gastrointestinal infections and cholecystitis caused by typhoid fever and other Salmonella species.
  3. Respiratory tract infections, such as acute bronchitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, and pneumonia.
  4. It can also be used for infectious diseases in ENT, dermatology, obstetrics and surgery.
