Description

It is white to light yellow crystalline powder. It is odorless with slightly bitter taste. Upon exposure to the air, it can easily absorb moisture to form a hemihydrate. Its color will be deepened upon light. Solubility (mg/m1) in 25 ℃: 0.28 in water, 0.98 in methanol, 1.9 in ethanol, 5.1 in acetone, 5.5 in chloroform, 0.01 in diethyl ether, 0.15 in benzene, 0.94 in ethyl acetate, 5.1 in octanol, and 340 in glacial acetic acid. It is easily soluble in acidic or alkaline solution and slightly so

Pefloxacin derivative as antibacterial. Fluorinated quinolone antibacterial. It has a broad-spectrum and high-efficiency antibacterial effect, a wide range of treatment, good oral absorption, and low toxicity. It is mainly used for the treatment of urinary tract infections, biliary tract infections, and intestinal infections clinically, with remarkable curative effect.

Drug Function and Efficacy

This product is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial drug with a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, especially high antibacterial activity against aerobic Gram-negative bacteria. It has good antibacterial activity against the following bacteria in vitro: most bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family, including Citrobacter, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacter aerogenes and other Enterobacter species, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Salmonella, Shigella, Vibrio, Yersinia, etc. Norfloxacin also has antibacterial activity against multi-drug resistant bacteria in vitro. It also has good antibacterial effects on penicillin-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis. Norfloxacin is a bactericide that acts on the A subunit of bacterial DNA helicase, inhibiting DNA synthesis and replication, leading to bacterial death.
